The following outlines our key policies regarding pet safety, service conditions, and client responsibilities

Policies:

Dog Grooming Salon Policies

Leash Policy:

 

For the safety of all pets and staff, we do not allow loose dogs in our studio. To prevent any accidents or injuries involving equipment or furniture, we enforce a strict zero off-leash policy with no exceptions.

All dogs must be leashed when entering and inside the studio. A loose dog can also trigger excitement or stress among other dogs waiting for their appointments. Please be mindful that some clients prefer their dogs not to socialize with others during check-in.

Thank you for respecting our policy and helping us maintain a safe, calm environment for everyone.

Pricing:

​

Please note that final pricing is determined at the time of your appointment.

  • Phone or online estimates are for reference only and may change once we meet your pup in person.

  • Every dog is required to be weighed on our in-house scale before services begin — no exceptions.

  • This process ensures accurate, fair, and consistent pricing based on your pup’s actual size,breed and grooming needs.

We appreciate your understanding as this policy allows us to provide the best care for every dog.

We reserve the right to refuse service at any time for any reason, including but not limited to:


Lack of proof of vaccinations
Signs of untreated or potentially contagious conditions
Aggressive behavior
Failure to meet our standard health and temperament policies

Grooming Satisfaction Policy:


We understand that everyone has different preferences when it comes to their pet’s grooming style. If there’s something you’d like adjusted—whether it’s a shorter trim on the ears, face, or legs—please let us know at pickup, and we’ll be happy to make the changes on the spot.

Please note: once your pet leaves our salon, the grooming is considered accepted as-is. Any adjustments requested after departure will need to be scheduled as a separate appointment—no exceptions.


Pricing and Policy Changes:

All prices, policies, services, and hours are subject to change without notice and are not negotiable

Cancellation Policy:

A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment will result in the loss of your $50 deposit. "No Call, No-shows," will result in a charge of the full grooming fee.

Late Pick-up Fee:

We close at 5:00 PM. Please be mindful of your quoted pickup time. A $20 late fee will apply if your pet is not picked up within 15 minutes. After 20 minutes, the fee increases to $30, and after 30 minutes or more, a $100 late fee or the cost of another full grooming session will be charged—whichever is greater.

Note: We allow a 45-minute grace period from the time your pickup text is sent. Our system is timestamped and automatically applies late fees when that time has passed. As a result, we are unable to make price adjustments.

Please be respectful of our groomers’ time. Your cooperation helps us provide the best care for every pup in our studio. Thank you for understanding.


Pick up:

We take pride in our quick turnaround times because we believe it's less stressful for our four-legged clients. While we absolutely love spending time with your pup(s), we aim to keep their stay as short and comfortable as possible.

When your pet's grooming session is nearly complete, we’ll give you a call or send a message—typically 15 to 20 minutes before they’re ready. From that point, you’ll have a 45-minute grace period to pick up your furry friend.

Please note:

  • After the 45-minute grace period: A $20 per 1/2 hour late fee will be added.

  • After closing time: The fee increases to $20 per 15 minutes.

Crate Policy:

​

For your pup’s safety, all dogs are securely placed in XXL stainless steel crates while they wait for pickup—this policy is non-negotiable. These crates are designed for dogs 150 lbs and up, so even our smallest guests have plenty of space to relax comfortably.

We use only oversized crates to ensure maximum comfort and safety. While some salons advertise as “cage-free,” any enclosed holding area is, by definition, a form of confinement—just in a different shape or size.

To minimize your pup’s time in the crate, we notify you 15–20 minutes before finishing, so you can plan your pickup accordingly.

At Wet Paws Grooming Studio, we prioritize both your dog’s well-being and our staff’s ability to safely manage the grooming environment. Thank you for your understanding and trust.

Special Handling:


As groomers, we know that each dog is different and are aware that some are more difficult to groom than others. While we will take in any dog regardless of age or temperament, you may be charged an additional fee because of your dog’s temperament or if it requires 2 groomers to complete the grooming process. The fee will be determined on a case by case basis, but it’s typically between $20-$40.

Pre-Grooming Potty Policy:


Please make sure to walk your dog before drop-off. While we understand that accidents can happen, if your pet soils themselves and requires a second bath, an additional $25 fee will apply.

Thank you for helping us keep your pet clean and comfortable!


Vaccination Requirement:


Up-to-date Rabies and Kennel Flu vaccinations are required for all grooming services. There are no exceptions.


Late Arrivals:

Please Arrive on Time
To ensure every pup receives the dedicated, one-on-one care they deserve, each appointment is assigned to a specific groomer—and we only groom one dog at a time. Because of this, punctuality is very important.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, a $20 late fee will apply, and your appointment may need to be rescheduled. We kindly ask that you call ahead if you’re running late; while we’ll do our best to accommodate you, tardiness significantly impacts our schedule and other clients.

Our appointments are carefully scheduled to allow each pup the one-on-one attention they deserve. We limit one dog per groomer at all times to ensure your pet receives our full focus. Late arrivals can disrupt our flow and affect other clients’ grooming times, so your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

We are strict about timing out of respect for our groomers’ time and the pets we serve. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!


Service Time:

A Premium bath typically takes 2 to 3 hours, and a Premium Groom takes 2 to 4 hours. Dogs with behavior issues or skin/coat problems may require longer time.

Premium Products


Unlike many shops, we use only high-end grooming products for your pup, including brands such as Iv San Bernard, Botaniqa, iGroom, and more. We take pride in our quality and carefully select products tailored to your dog’s specific coat and breed type.

Providing the best quality and experience for your pup is our top priority.


Safety Measures:

For the safety of your dog and our team, muzzles, slings, and loops may be used when necessary. Inform us if your dog bites.
Accidents can happen if your dog does not remain still during grooming.


Flea Policy:

If fleas are found on your dog, a flea bath will be administered at the owner's expense to maintain salon sanitation.


Sensitive Services:
 

Your pet’s well-being is our top priority. We will never continue any service that causes discomfort to your dog or puts our groomers at risk. In some cases, especially with sensitive or anxious pets, certain grooming needs may be better handled by a veterinarian.

If at any point we feel your pup is becoming overly stressed or uncomfortable, we will stop the grooming process immediately. Their safety and emotional health always come first.


Senior Dog Care:
 

We provide extra care and gentle handling for our senior clients. However, please understand that older dogs may be more sensitive to grooming due to age-related physical or mental stress. If brushing, clipping, or any part of the grooming process becomes too stressful, we may need to modify or end the service for their safety and comfort.

We are not responsible for any pre-existing or ongoing health conditions. It is the owner’s responsibility to inform us of any known medical or behavioral issues prior to the appointment. We take every precaution possible, and your senior dog’s well-being is always our top concern.


Matted Coats:

Matted coats can lead to various health issues and may require shaving, which could cause skin irritation. Grooming matted dogs may be long, stressful, or painful. We may alter or cease service if it's in the dog's best interest.

Plan Ahead Policy

​

We kindly remind all clients that we are not a daycare service. Appointments are scheduled to ensure your pup’s comfort and our team’s efficiency.

  • Please plan ahead when booking your appointment.

  • We are unable to adjust or “maneuver” schedules once they are set.

  • Do not rush us to finish your pup early. Grooming takes time, and we prioritize safety and quality over speed.

  • Early drop-offs and late pick-ups are not permitted. We cannot accommodate extended stays outside of your scheduled appointment time.

This policy allows us to provide the best possible experience for every pup in our care while maintaining a smooth and stress-free schedule.

  • Review our policies carefully before booking.

  • Read and acknowledge the disclosure provided upon arrival.

By following these guidelines, we can ensure a smooth, safe, and stress-free experience for both you and your pup.

Cleaning Policy


Rest assured, your pup’s health and well-being are our top priority. We thoroughly clean and disinfect our entire grooming area after every single session—this includes bathtubs, grooming tables, equipment, and crates.

Because we sanitize after every use, you’ll always notice a clean and fresh studio. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and hygiene come first at Wet Paws Grooming Studio.
